On the 26th of December, 2010, Mumbai witnessed a massive party of over 150 motorcycles rolling together for the cause of safe motorcycle riding and Aids awareness. Occasion was the Durex Jeans Ride for Safety 2010 bike rally that was flagged off from Nariman point by none other than well-known bollywood actor and motorcycle enthusiast, John Abraham. The event was organized by Vijay Jain - founder of the Wheelie Boy Adventures based in Mumbai and it saw participation from various biker clubs from Mumbai, Pune and even New Delhi. Gracing the occasion was international sportsperson Deepa Malik, who suffers from waist-below paralysis and was present at the do astride her specially designed ATV.
The message of the rally was to spread awareness about road safety, helmet awareness and avert drinking and driving. The other cause promoted by the event was awareness about Aids and its prevention. Sizeable number of enthusiasts stepped forward to help the cause and the chief sponsor Durex too went out of its way to provide great hospitality to all the riders and participants. Exotic bikes spotted at the rally included Harley Davidsons, Ducatis, Suzuki Intruder, Hayabusa and Ducatis.
