Emflux Motors today unveiled India's first electric superbike at the Auto Expo 2018, and it has certainly piqued our interest. But hold your horses! The futuristic-looking motorcycle is still a year away from its launch (March 2019). We are expecting the electric motorcycle to be priced around Rs 5-6 lakh (ex-showroom)

The fully faired electric superbike, Model One, packs a liquid-cooled AC induction motor capable of delivering 68PS of power and 84Nm of torque. The latter is generated at 8400rpm. According to the company, it can sprint from a nought to 100kmph in just 3 seconds and has a top speed of 200kmph! The explosive performance is powered by a lithium-ion battery developed by Samsung. It has a range of 200km and the company claims it is possible to charge it up to 80 per cent in just over half an hour.

The Model One is packed to the brim with features as well. It sports a 6.8-inch TFT screen, a GPS navigation system, Bluetooth, WiFi, real-time vehicle diagnostics, and a mobile app for remote customisation and bike-to-bike connectivity.

The Model One is based on a tubular steel trellis frame. The suspension setup consists of 43mm USD forks (upgradable to Ohlins Race and Track USD fork) up front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear (upgradable to Ohlins 46mm Monotube Gas Shock). Braking is taken care of by Brembo-powered 300mm dual-disc brakes up front and a single 220mm disc brake at the rear.

Safety has also been prioritised as it comes equipped with a dual-channel ABS system. The Model One also supports regenerative braking, which charges your battery every time you brake. The 17-inch (120/70 front and 180/55 rear) wheels come wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
