Hyundai has a reputation of providing the longest list of features in its class. But in the recent past, with the launch of the Honda Jazz, the reputation was challenged. Thankfully, the Korean car maker has been proactive and immediately worked to ensure that the top spot isn’t stolen from them.
Although the Elite i20 and the i20 Active come heavily loaded with features including, Bluetooth, AUX, USB connectivity, reversing camera, button start, keyless entry and the works, it missed out on a touchscreen infotainment system – a feature that the 2015 Jazz introduced in this segment. To keep up with the competition, Hyundai has been quick to make the changes and introduce a touchscreen infotainment system in the Elite i20 and the i20 Active. Hyundai has now added another variant to its line-up, the Asta(O) which will come with a 7-inch touchscreen AVN system along with all other features available on the Asta variant.
The two hatchbacks aren’t the only models in the Hyundai line-up to get an updated feature list. ABS will not be offered on all variants in the Xcent. The SX variant of the Xcent has been discontinued and the S(O) trim now gets reversing camera.
While the three cars have got a longer list of features, some of the features from the Eon have been done away with. The D-Lite+ variant no longer comes with body colour bumpers and a chrome grille. The top-end Era trim loses out on central locking. The remaining trims and equipment on all models remain unchanged. Along with all these cars, the recently updated Verna 4S is also expected to be installed with a touchscreen AVN system soon.
