Alongside the new CBR100RR-R Fireblade models, Honda also pulled the wraps off the 2020 edition of its CMX500 Rebel at EICMA 2019. The retro motorcycle gets a new Euro 5-compliant motor, updated trim and a cooler S edition.

The new Rebel 500 now gets all-LED lighting and a new LED headlamp unit that looks cooler than before. Its new inverted LCD instrument control now includes a gear position indicator. To make the Rebel more comfortable, Honda has tweaked the suspension and updated the seat. It also gets a new Matte Jeans Blue Metallic colour option.

The big news, of course, is the Euro-5 compliant motor. Honda has worked on the 421cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor and given it a new exhaust. This motor delivers 46.2PS and 43.3Nm of torque. Also included is an assist-and-slipper clutch for 30 percent reduced clutch lever effort and better control while downshifting at high speeds.
The Rebel 500 also gets a cooler looking S edition. This motorcycle gets an all-dark theme courtesy a new Matte Axis Grey Metallic paintjob and cosmetic updates such as a headlamp cowl, fork gaiters and diamond-stitched seat.
If Honda plans to launch the Rebel 500 in India, it will go up against the Benelli Leoncino 500 and Royal Enfield Interceptor.
