It’s quite baffling that Bajaj has given the Pulsar RS200 a substantial price hike of Rs 5,005. Currently, Bajaj hasn’t updated the prices of the RS200 on its website but thankfully, our dealer sources have revealed the new asking price has been set at Rs 1,57,184 (ex-showroom Delhi). That’s quite a raise for a bike that has not seen any worthwhile update ever.
The Pulsar RS200 was meant to spawn the next generation of full-faired Pulsars. Sadly, that didn’t pan out exactly how Bajaj would have liked. The brash nature of the motorcycle, coupled with the in-your-face design, didn’t make it quite a hit as the Pulsar 220F.
Now with the revised price tag, it goes up head-to-head against the Yamaha R15 v3. While the Pulsar is more powerful, the R15 is a better handler and also more feature-loaded.
What will be more interesting to see is what happens to the RS200 and even the Pulsar NS series when the new-generation Pulsars arrive, starting with the Pulsar 250. Get all the dope on the upcoming quarter-litre Pulsar here.
