Nissan’s sub-4 metre SUV, the Magnite, will most likely be launched on November 26, according to our sources. A handful of dealers have already begun unofficial pre-launch bookings for a token amount of Rs 11,000, hinting at its imminent arrival. It could be priced from Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) as revealed in a leaked snippet from what seems to be a dealer event. Here’s a look at its detailed pricing:

The Nissan Magnite will be offered in four variants: XE, XL, XV and XV Premium. Customers can opt for connected car tech on the top-end variant for an additional cost. It will be offered in eight shades: red, white, brown, silver, black, blue/white, red/black, and white/black.
If these leaked prices are true, the Magnite will hit a sweet chord with Indian car buyers as it comes loaded with features. Highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with segment-first wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, connected car tech, a 7-inch coloured digital driver’s display, bi-projector LED headlamps, and climate control. Safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitor.
Customers can opt for a Tech pack on the XV and XV Premium variants, which adds a wireless phone charger, air purifier, ambient lighting, puddle lamps, and a JBL sound system. The Magnite, however, misses out on equipment such as side and curtain airbags as well as a sunroof.

The Magnite will be offered with two 1.0-litre petrol engines: a 72PS/96Nm naturally aspirated (NA) unit and a 100PS/160Nm turbocharged motor. The naturally aspirated engine will be offered in all variants while the turbocharged motor will be limited to the top three trims. A 5-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard while the turbo-petrol engine can be opted with a CVT.
The Magnite is an important model for Nissan as it has the potential to put the carmaker back on the radar. It will take on segment biggies such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
