F1: Adrian Sutil talks to ZigWheels

Moveable rear wings, changes in the team, KERS and new teammates - Sutil expresses his views on the 2011 season.

The one constant that the Force India team has had ever since they started off in 2008 has been a tall German by the name of Adrian Sutil. The trained pianist discovered his love for racing at an early age though and his passion has been his career since. Amidst a team that has constantly changed both on the technical and management fronts, Sutil has kept Force India’s flag flying for the past three seasons. From starting off with Ferrari engines and then moving on to McLaren technology and Mercedes engines, to a major reshuffle in Force India’s tech team that has seen the VJM-branded car see-saw in terms  of reliability and performance over the past couple of seasons, Adrian has adapted well to the change. And there has been the matter of changing teammates as well – being partnered with Giancarlo Fisichella for the first two seasons and then with Vitantonio Liuzzi when Fisi left for Ferrari and now with last year’s test driver Paul di Resta, Sutil has been instrumental in keeping alive a lively camaraderie in the team – taking up his role as the team’s first driver with great aplomb.

ZigWheels recently met up with Adrian Sutil in Mumbai at the ‘Race with Force India’ event at the Hakone Kart Track in Powai and spoke to him about the progress the team has made and his views on the recent changes in F1 – moveable rear wings and KERS. Here’s what he had to say:
