The updates to the compact sedan are mostly cosmetic in nature
- Design changes are limited to the new LED projector headlamps, new front grille, alloy wheels from the fourth-gen City and C-shaped LED taillights.
- The cabin receives silver inserts on the steering wheel and gear lever, as well as a new gear knob.
- It continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, with 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox options.
- It rivals the Ford Aspire, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.
Honda Cars India has given the Amaze compact sedan a mid-life refresh at prices starting from Rs 6.32 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Offered in three trims-- E, S, and VX -- the updates to keep the Amaze fresh have of course come at a price premium. The V trim, which sat between the S and VX, has now been discontinued as well.

All variants apart from the base-spec E have seen a price increment of up to Rs 6,000. Also, the diesel-CVT powertrain, which was earlier offered from the lower-spec S, can now be had in the fully loaded VX trim only.
Now to the changes in the sedan which aren’t comprehensive, but enough to keep it fresh. On the outside, it gets new auto projector LED headlamps, complemented by an updated grille (chrome slats and a thinner chrome connecting bar), and a tweaked bumper. The other changes include the same alloy wheel design as the fourth-generation City, chrome door handles, and new C-shaped LED taillamps.
Head inside, and the cabin is largely unchanged except for a new gear knob and silver accents on the steering wheel and gear lever. It continues to be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, multi-info display, automatic climate control, cruise control, and keyless entry with push-button start. Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera.
Under the hood, it retains the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, with the former making 90PS and 110Nm, while the latter pushes out 100PS and 200Nm (80PS/160Nm in diesel-CVT). Both can be specced with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
The updated Honda Amaze takes on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Ford Aspire, and Tata Tigor.
