Test vehicles of the facelifted versions of the Renault Duster have been spotted doing the rounds in India under heavy camouflage. Although heavily cladded, the changes in the new car including design features and wheels are quite obvious.
The new car will have a slightly reworked front end with updated headlamps, bumper and a new grille. Also expect changes to the tail gate section and the tail lamps themselves. There will also be a new set of alloy wheels and normal steel wheels that will adorn the upcoming car. The new India spec Duster is essentially expected to take design cues from its Brazilian cousin that was facelifted earlier this year.
The new car will also get a reworked interior as recently the Duster has not been able to keep up with cars like the Hyundai Creta mainly because of the highly forward interior design that the likes of the Creta bring to the table. Also expect more tech and even more comfortable interiors including a top of the line leather interior option to adorn the Duster in the near future.
We do not expect the Renault Duster to get any new engine options. The 1.5-litre diesel engine in two specs and the petrol engine will continue to be offered. There will also continue to be an all-wheel-drive range topping version of the Duster and an automatic too will join the range. Expect Renault to offer an AMT gearbox instead of the conventional automatic or CVT that they offer in their other cars.
