For petrolheads, Fast & Furious is the instant ramen of movie franchises – comfort food. The series is probably coming to an end with the final Fast X, which is set to come out on May 18, 2023, in Indian theatres. And we say probably the final movie because of some speculations going around, more about which later in this story. That apart, the final trailer reveals a full spice mix of drool-worthy cars, action-packed explosions and chases, and, of course, family.
Here’s the final trailer to set the mood right before we head into everything you can expect from the movie:
Fast Cars
The final Fast X trailer is as adrenaline-pumping as we expect the movie to be. Vin Diesel and his mates are prepping to face-off with Jason Momoa, whose job it is to execute a high-profile bombing.
We already know the wide array of iconic American muscle cars that’ll be seen in the movie, including Dominic Toretto’s (Vin Diesel) ‘70s Dodge Charger R/T, which speeds down a dam while escaping an enormous explosion.
It’s not just American cars, either. The sweet red car that Tyrese Gibson is bellyaching about is a classic Alfa Romeo GTV 2000. Other cars we’ve spotted in the recent trailers include a Shelby Mustang, Lamborghini Gallardo, more recent Dodge Chargers, Nissan 240Z and even some EVs.

Iconic Frames From Older Movies

Just like we’d expect, the final movie brings back some iconic references from the previous nine Fast & Furious movies. For one, the bridge scene reminds us of Fast Five, as does the giant bomb rolling through city streets. Similarly, the scene at 1:37 induces the nostalgia of the first two movies in the series, which were all about the instantaneous glamour and adrenaline rush of street racing.
Action packed sequences
There hasn’t been a single Fast and Furious film where people have gone and complained about the lack of action sequences in the film and it seems like it is going to be the same story this time around as well. The trailer, as you can see, is full of one-on-one duels, dynamic car chases (of course), and the usual blowing up of cars. Yes, there will be a few outlandish car jumps from deranged locations as well, and yes, the use of destructive weapons will also be generous.

Now coming to the speculation, reports suggest that the Fast X might not be the final movie of the franchise and that the finale would be further split into two parts, making it a trilogy. And this theory actually has some basis to it, because it were the comments made by Vin Diesel himself that actually gave birth to this speculation in the first place.
Universal Pictures, which is the production house of the film, reportedly suggested that the next film would be a companion to the Fast X. It is a pretty cagey comment, but it could mean that we might have a spin-off on our hands. Who knows? Only time will tell. Until then, enjoy the spectacle that is going to be the 10th Fast and Furious film, because even if we have another one coming, it’ll surely be a while away.
