Ferrari announces new ‘Handling Speciale’ option for the California T

Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari is without a doubt one of the most revered companies in the automobile sector we all know of. The brand has been known to build high performance engines in combination with state-of-the-art technologies in each of its offerings. The California T, Ferrari’s Grand Tourer, which is an ideal blend of versatility and performance, has now received the ‘Handling Speciale’ (HS) option which further delivers a sportier driving experience.

The ‘Handling Speciale’ option for the California T takes the dynamics of the supercar to the next level by offering a sequence of different calibrations, especially in the Manettino’s Sport mode. The package offers modified suspension setup with new damper settings and stiffer springs. Despite the addition of sportier suspension components the ride comfort has negligibly shifted from the factory setup. The SCM3 magnetorheological dampers improves response and overall efficiency of the setup. Improvement to the F1-Trac logic of the California T offers improved exit corner and rough road surface acceleration. The transmission for the Sport mode (both in automatic and manual) is revised, thus delivering a quicker and sportier change between gearshifts.

With the suspension upgrades, the Ferrari California T provides a sportier feedback which is assisted by a meatier exhaust note that builds up as the revs go up. The HS package offers a different exhaust system which will receive two primary pipes entering the mufflers which is vividly noticeable on firing up the V8 turbocharged engine. The new system is accompanied by a revised internal design generating an exhaust note which gradually increases as the engine rpm surges producing a sportier and charismatic sound which is reportedly more melodic to the ears.

Ferrari will also be offering certain aesthetic elements in the HS package which highlights the California T while keeping in mind the Grand Tourer’s balance of elegance and sportiness. The package includes a new front grille in matte Grigio Ferro Met while the rear diffuser and fins are inked in matte black. The tail pipes are also offered with a matte black treatment which completes the look at the rear. The Ferrari California Ts which have been equipped with the HS package will bear a special sign in the cockpit thus marking their speciality.
