Ferrari commenced its second innings in the Indian car market today as it launched the California T for Rs 3.45 crore (ex-showroom India). Ferrari was supposed to launch the California T at Rs 3.30 crore in India but owing to the rupee deprecating against the dollar, price of the car has hiked by Rs 15 lakh. Apart from being the first turbo charged Ferrari offering to be officially sold in India, the California T is also the first new Ferrari launch in India. The Ferrari Mumbai dealership has been awarded to Navnit Motors. Two units of the Ferrari California T have been already delivered in India and according to dealer officials there have been lots of queries for the Italian supercar manufacturer. The Ferrari California T currently has a waiting period of three to four months but highly customised versions will take more than six months for delivery.
The Ferrari California T is Ferrari’s first ever front engined V8 car that is also turbocharged. The California T features a 4.3-litre V8 twin-turbo engine that makes 560PS of peak power and a shattering 755Nm of peak torque. Talking about performance, The California T sprints from 0 to 100kmph in 3.6 seconds flat and from 0 to 200kmph in 11.2 seconds. The new California T of course is also a Convertible offering the best of both worlds to the lucky few customers. The new California T will also be one of the most popular Ferrari’s in India and also the cheapest Ferrari supercar in its impressive portfolio.
Several Ferrari customers in the past have complained about how Ferrari service was a problem in the past due to both logistical and actual on ground service support. Navnit Motors will also offer full sport and after sales to existing Ferrari customers and the dealership will be based in Bandra-Kurla Complex and commence operation in October. The new Ferrari California T will go up against the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo s Convertible, the Bentley Continental GT cabriolet, Aston Martin DBS Volante and the upcoming Rolls Royce Dawn.
