Ferrari is at it again and how. After introducing some stunningly fast and fresh new models last year, Ferrari has announced the launch of sport-specific handling and performance kits for its cars. The 599 GTB Fiorano is one of the first models to get the elite Handling GTE option-pack. The package has upgrades to boost the dynamics of the car and make it more stable and firm for spirited driving. Apart from the handling upgrades there are two other upgrade kits available for the GTB - a Performance kit and an Exhaust kit.
The handling package consists of 10mm lowered suspension which is further monitored and controlled by the new Magnetorheologically governed suspension that has been calibrated for the specially developed Manettino SPORT and RACE configurations. The advanced suspension springs on the front-engined rear-wheel drive 599's are also more rigid with 17% increased bias on the front and 15% more on the rear springs. The diameter of the rear anti-roll bars has also been increased to 25mm. The kit also includes specifically designed lightweight 3-piece modular rims with forged spokes and they are shod with HGTE specific tyres with improved compound that provide additional grip than the stock rubber.
The handling package provides the 599 GTB Fiorano with additional vigour and athletic form to handle the 600 horses pumped out by the 599's massive 6.0 V12 engine. For those who are unhappy with the performance of the stock motor, there is also a performance kit available for the car off the shelf. Available only for post-2008 produced models, the performance hop-ups include enhanced gearshift actuation borrowed from the Ferrari F1 car, with response times reduced to 85ms. There is also all-new accelerator logic with modified mapping for improved throttle response. Completing the package is the exhaust system with newly developed silencers and two-tone finish tailpipes. The package can be installed only on cars than have an automatic gearbox
Well that's not enough. If you are the one who likes to groove to the sound of the 6.0 litre powerplant, then Ferrari has also released a special Exhaust package which includes the new exhausts silencers with two-tone finish tailpipes. This bolt-on kit has been designed for all cars with manual gearboxes and for 599 GTB Fiorano customers looking to enhance the sound and look of their own cars. The Exhaust kit comes as a part of the package if you buy the Performance option-pack. Aesthetics wise the car gets a new design front grille with a special chromatic treatment and the Ferrari logos on the front grill and the boot lid come with a burnished finish.
The Italian company as always been at the helm of supercar world and even though as it makes some of the fastest and finest automobiles sold in the world, it continues to feed its power-hungry supporters with constant doses of performance parts and accessories. Selling factory-spec tuned performance parts is a regular concept that has been adopted by various car and motorcycles makers across the globe for example the new Nissan GTR that comes in the V-Spec form which comes with factory tuned performance parts and handling upgrades.
