Fiat Avventura was last showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo back in February. The Italian carmaker has now started teasing its forthcoming crossover on its official website, hinting at a possible launch to happen soon. The Avventura is based on the Punto hatchback which is set for a launch next month.
The production version will be more or less the same as the concept car seen at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. The new car will get aggressive projector headlamps, new grille with built-in daytime running lamps, plastic cladding, roof rails and a large spare wheel mounted on independent swing arm.
The Fiat Avventura shares the Fiat Punto’s interior with a few additions. The interior of the Fiat Avventura concept seen at the Auto Expo was designed to match its exterior with bright orange accents around the dashboard and orange stitching that complemented its dark grey and white fabric upholstery. The crossover also received a three-spoke steering wheel with audio and call function buttons and sport seats with integrated arm rests.
The Avventura is expected to be launched with petrol and diesel engine options – 1.4-litre gasoline motor that churns out 90PS of power and 115Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine that delivers 92PS of power and 209Nm of torque. Both the engines are expected to be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Fiat Avventura will compete with the Volkswagen CrossPolo and the Toyota Etios Cross.
