Fiat India is hoping to add some numbers to its sales register during the ongoing festive season just like every other automaker. But while others have focused on giving attractive discounts and schemes to customers, the Italian car firm has taken a different route by introducing two special edition trims, one each for Punto Evo hatchback and Linea sedan. They’ve been christened Punto Evo Karbon and Linea Royale, though Fiat hasn’t shared details regarding prices or whether these will be limited in number just yet.
So what all do we know? Let’s look at the Punto Evo Karbon first. It is only available with a pearl white paint body colour and a blackened roof to give it a sporty outlook. There’s also a black striped decal running along the shoulder line with a ‘Karbon’ marque just below the taillights. On the inside, the Karbon edition receives an all-black interior trim with white stitching while the door panels get a beige dressing. This special edition is only available with the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine, which is tuned to produce 93PS of power and 209Nm of torque.
Just like the Punto Evo Karbon, the Linea Royale also receives the same body and roof paint job combo to make it stand out from the rest of the variants. The sedan gets a ‘Royale’ badge located just below the C-pillar but has no decals. Another noticeable change to the car’s exterior is the newly designed alloy wheels which also get a black paintwork. Inside the cabin, the upholstery is covered in tan-coloured materials, including leather seats, top of the dashboard fabric and door panels. The Royale edition is only available with the 1.4-litre T-Jet motor under the hood, which is tuned to produce 125PS of power and 210Nm of torque.
We expect Fiat to share more details of these special editions in the coming days. With bespoke styling cues in both the cars, expect to pay a slight premium over the standard variants. While the standard range of the Punto Evo costs between Rs 6.81 lakh to Rs 7.92 lakh, the Linea 125 range starts from Rs 10.46 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
