Hero MotoCorp Manufacturing Facity

World's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp (HMCL), has now become even larger with commencing production at its new production facility in Halol near Vadodara, Gujarat. Recently, the company rolled out the first two-wheeler from this new greenfield manufacturing plant which was the market leader -- Splendor Pro. The company presented this first product from the new plant to Somnath Temple Trust, however, a formal inauguration ceremony is also going to be held soon.

The Halol plant is the sixth manufacturing facility of HMCL which is already having plants at Daruhera, Gurgaon, Haridwar, Neemrana and a global facility in Columbia, South America. The company is about to come up with its second global manufacturing plant which will be in Bangladesh. The work of new global facility is in the process and it will also be functional by the end of this year.  and will be operational later this year. Apart from that, another domestic plant will be settled in Andhra Pradesh.

Coming back to the new Halol facility, sources claim that the plant will produce 12 lakh units per annum in the first phase, while the overall production capacity has been planned for 18 lakh units. And the initial investment proposed by Hero MotoCorp for all this is estimated to be Rs 1,100 crore.

HMCL is the biggest player in the Indian two-wheeler market and it plays like that as well. The company is making big investments in new facilities and product development. While continuing on its mission for global expansion, the company is also focusing on new products at its new Centre of innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur. And for that, HMCL is also hiring some of the best resources of the global industry.
