Mark your calendar! BMW Motorrad enthusiasts, mark your calendar as the German two-wheeler giant is coming to India on April 14th. BMW Motorrad will throw open its first official dealership in India on this day. Bavaria Motors will be the first official dealer for BMW Motorrad in India and it will be located in Pune. It is also speculated that BMW Motorrad will also make its official entry into the Indian two-wheeler space along with the new dealership launch. The German two-wheeler manufacturer had announced during the 2016 Auto Expo about its intention to enter our two-wheeler market officially. It had also displayed some motorcycles along with the much-awaited G 310 R at its stall.
From our sources we have confirmed that the BMW Motorrad dealerships will only sell CBU motorcycles. The disappointing news is that the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS will not be launched in India till 2018. BMW is likely to ride in the F800GS, 1200GS, S1000RR, S1000R, R nineT and K 1600 GTL. All the above bikes will come in via the CBU route and will be priced much lower than the current prices for the BMW motorcycles as they’re now being sold officially. BMW Motorrad has also shortlisted five more locations and will set shop in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai in 2017.
