Force One: Where does it stand?

The enormous SUV from Force Motors has undoubtedly garnered attention from sections across. Here's a quick peek into where Force One stands against the competition.

Coming from the garage of a manufacturer who has been known for its commercial vehicles like the Matador launched nearly half a century ago, the Minidor, Trax and the hugely inspiring (for those who actually sampled one) Gurkha, its first passenger vehicle the Force One is 'something' to watch out for.

Despite established players in the segment like Mahindra with its Scorpio and now XUV 500, Ford with its Endeavour, Toyota with Innova, and Nissan with its stylish X-Trail, Force Motors' Force One manages to hold its own in this tightly contested segment.

The Force One is super spacious, both in terms of hauling passengers and your (and perhaps your neighbour's as well) monthly grocery. It has a ginormous glovebox and loads of cubby holes all round for storing knickknacks. The 2.2-litre common rail diesel Daimler engine produces plenty of torque that kicks in at just the right rpm and stays there through the rev range.

With features like progressive cruise control, independent air conditioning for occupants on all three rows of seats, leather interiors, parking sensor, brake pad wear indicator and a suspension kit from Lotus, the Force One is loaded to the hilt. All this at a price of Rs 10.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) makes it an attractive buy. With minor quality glitches getting ironed out and a strong after-sales set-up, this butch and burly SUV might be a Force to reckon with.
