With the launch of Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Hyundai Creta, Ford India is making its presence felt by celebrating 2 lakh sales milestone in domestic wholesales and exports combined. The Ford EcoSPort was launched in India about two years ago, had received 60,000 bookings within 30-days of introduction. Produced by Ford at its Indian plant in Chennai, the compact SUV is exported to various international markets such as - South Africa, Taiwan, Australia and several European countries. Currently, out of the 2 lakh units produced locally, over 1.12 lakh were bought by buyers in the country.
“The EcoSport, since its launch, has been appreciated for its compelling value proposition and we would like to thank all our customers for their patronage,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director Marketing, Sales & Service at Ford India. “Ford EcoSport created the compact SUV segment and dominates the market owing to its unmatched value. The 200,000 sales milestone is yet another testament to the inherent strengths of our compact SUV that continues to set new benchmarks even in a challenging market.”
