Ford has announced the availability of its SUV - the Ford EcoSport at Canteen Stores Department (CSD) and Central Police Canteen (CPC) across India. This SUV now joins the Ford Classic, Ford Figo and Ford Endeavour at these stores to cater to serving personnel and ex-servicemen.
The EcoSport can be bought by service personnel and ex-servicemen through these stores with usual benefits such as sales tax exemption or discount (depending on the state). In addition, the automaker has also announced that serving personnel and ex-servicemen who book their SUV through CSD and CPC will be eligible for exclusive benefits including priority delivery, subject to variant availability, in addition to standard benefits offered under these stores.
The EcoSport is available with petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol lineup includes a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine which churns out 112PS of power and 140Nm of torque, and an EcoBoost 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 125PS of power and 170Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder oil burner delivers 91PS of power and 204Nm of torque.
The Ford EcoSport is priced at Rs 6.20 lakh for the base variant while the top-of-the-line variant comes at a price tag of Rs 9.54 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Earlier in August this year, the India-made EcoSport crossed the one lakh unit sales mark (export and domestic wholesales combined).
