The Ford Endeavour Sport has been spotted testing in India and spy shots have surfaced online. This particular variant is already on sale in the Australian market as a special variant and could be launched in the Indian market to take on the likes of the recently introduced Toyota Fortuner TRD.
As the name suggests, the Ford Endeavour Sport gets ‘sporty’ upgrades to its exterior and interior. All the chrome elements have been traded in for a stealthier black finish while the alloy wheels are also finished in… you guessed it… black! And while we couldn’t see this test mule’s front end, we expect it to come with a honeycomb finish instead of the chrome slatted grille.
The Ford Endeavour Sport’s dashboard layout is likely to remain similar to the standard model. Expect it to come with an all-black finish to keep it in line with its ‘Sport’ tag. Even the equipment list could remain unchanged. Highlights include Ford’s Sync-3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, and off-road modes.
The Endeavour Sport could be powered by the standard model’s 170PS 2.0-litre diesel engine paired with a country-first 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford could offer this variant in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants. The test mule in these pictures could be the RWD variant as the 4WD variant badging is missing on the tailgate.
The Ford Endeavour Sport, if launched, could be priced similarly or slightly above the top-spec Titanium+ 4x4 AT variant (Rs 34.45 lakh). It will lock horns with the Toyota Fortuner TRD. Meanwhile, Ford has begun work on the next-gen Endy and you can read more about it here.
