Ford has finally brought in the Figo Aspire and boy have they created a stir in the segment with the price. The base petrol variant of the Figo Aspire starts at Rs 4.90 lakh, with the top-end diesel manual going right up to Rs 8.25 lakh. But aside from the pricing, the Ford Figo Aspire has also shaken up the segment in terms of the features that it offers.
.) Airbags as standard: Ford has a reputation of making extremely safe cars and with the Figo Aspire they continue to do so. For the safety of the driver as well as the passenger, the American car maker offers front two airbags as standard equipment across the model range, something that none of the cars in this segment have on offer. In fact, the top-end diesel variant gets 6 airbags, another segment first.
.) Leather Upholstery: If you are looking for a petrol automatic compact sedan and want premium looking interiors, then the Ford Figo Aspire is surely a car for you. Apart from the fact that the dashboard is well designed and built, there is also the leather upholstery. However, the Figo Aspire in the Automatic Titanium Automatic variant sadly doesn’t get a leather wrapped steering wheel or gear knob.
.) My FordDock and AppLink: For all the gadget geeks Ford has ensured that their smart phones or MP3 players never run out of juice. The MyFord Dock is another first-in-class feature that that not only offers drivers a unique solution to mounting their smart phone but also integrating it into the car’s entertainment system. If that isn’t new-age enough for you, then there is also the AppLink that allows drivers to control their phone, apps and entertainment using simple voice commands.
.) Smart Key: Aside from keeping things safe inside the car, Ford also wants to encourage responsible driving the new smart key feature on the Figo Aspire. The Ford MyKey is a feature that allows owners to program keys with restricted driving modes that encourage good driving habits like seat belt use, top speed limiter, and audio volume regulator.
.) Dual Clutch Auto Transmission: While very few manufacturers in this class offer an automatic transmission, the ones that do have a Continuously Variable Transmission which isn’t the smoother on the shift. Ford though has gone a step ahead and employed a Dual Clutch Transmission resulting in smoother and faster shifts between gears.
