Ford India has increased the price of its compact SUV, the EcoSport, with prices going up by Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 according to the variant.
The starting price for the base petrol variant, the 1.5-litre Ambiente is now Rs 5,82,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi), an increase of Rs 23,300 from Rs 5,59,000. The 1.0-litre Titanium (O) EcoBoost variant is now priced at Rs 8,66,290, which was previously priced at Rs8,29,000. While the top-spec diesel Titanium(o) also gets a vertical push to Rs9,37,290 from Rs9,00,000.
The revision in prices is due to rising input costs because of factors such as inflation, high interest rates, and the rupee decline. Ford India is not the only company to have done so. Recently BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and General Motors all increased the prices of their vehicles by 4-5%.
