After Delhi and Chandigarh, Ford India’s ‘The Great Ford Endeavour Drive’ concluded in Bengaluru on December 19, 2011. The two-day event was aimed at showcasing the Endeavour’s off-roading capabilities. Ford roped in veteran rally driver Jagat Nanjappa to demonstrate the SUV’s prowess to customers on a specially laid-out track comprising obstructions like 45-degree slopes, inclines, slush patches and more.
Ford India Vice President, Marketing, Anurag Mehrotra, said, "Through this event, we want to give customers hands-on experience of the off-road capabilities of Endeavour. Our new Hurricane edition combines tough exterior styling and commanding road presence with extra comfort and flexibility to bring a comfortable, safe, reliable and robust SUV." Customers also had the chance to engage in adventure activities like fox climbing, rappelling, Burma Bridge and rock climbing.
The new limited Hurricane edition comes with a price tag of Rs. 20.13 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, with features like on-the-fly four wheel drive switch, a reverse camera connected to the main display, navigation system, DVD player with touch screen audio display, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic transmission. Perhaps, the only thing that stops this Endeavour from being a pure off-roader is locking differentials. A car that size sure deserves one!
