Mercedes-Benz is well known for more than just its luxury vehicles. The G-Class and the V-Class are two nameplates that exemplify the previous statement. The G wagon is known as one of the most capable off-roaders in the world even though it has not even been refreshed in a long time. The V-Class is a luxury people hauler that can seat between 6-8 people in comfort. There is another name - Brabus - who specialises in tuning Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This year, at 2017 Geneva Motor Show, it has showcased two custom vehicles, a G500 4x4 Squared and the V-Class.

Starting with the G500 4x4 Squared, Brabus has upped its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine's power output to 550PS and torque output to 800Nm. This helps the G500 4x4 Sqaured go from 0-100kmph in 6.9 seconds. Its top speed has been limited to 210kmph. A new body kit has been used on this G500 4x4 Squared which includes lower bumpers and polished underbody panels. There is a scoop in the bonnet and black-tinted Xenon headlamps replace the regular units. Inside, there is quilted leather, alcantara and stitch work finished in bright red in the Brabus G500 4x4 Squared.

Coming to the V-Class, Brabus' tuning has the car's four-cylinder engine make 232PS power and 510Nm torque. Inside, the chauffeur area has been separated from the rear passenger area. A pair of fully adjustable and climate controlled chairs take centrestage and Brabus has fitted the car with a 40-inch screen with a cloud-based connectivity system, LTE, touchscreen control panel, Apple TV and Sony PS4 Pro. An onboard safe, a mini fridge and hot/cold cup holders round off the enhancements made by Brabus in the V-Class.

One an off-road vehicle and the other a luxurious limousine in the body of a van, both cars are pretty outrageous in their own right. But having been created by Brabus, it is only normal that such crazy custom vehicles come into existence.
