The MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship is back after a month-long break. The fourth and penultimate round of the 2016 championship resumes on October 8-9 weekend at the Madras Motor Race Track in Sriperumbudur near Chennai. This time around, there will be free practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday. They will be followed by a total of 10 races on Sunday. Expect the competition to be fierce with championships in each of the four national championship categories - Super Sport Indian 300-400cc, Super Sport Indian 165cc, Pro-Stock 165cc and Stock 165cc - still up for grabs.

Also, there is the Yamaha MMSC One Make Championship for Novice riders and support races for superbikes will also feature on the national championship card. There are over 100 entries in the fourth round, just like the previous three rounds, which is encouraging. Coming to the categories and the respective competition, in the 300-400cc class, Auroville lad Ami van Poederooijen and Bengaluru boy Abhishek Vasudev vie for the championship with 85 and 79 points, respectively. Interestingly, both are from Rockstar Racing team.

In the Super Sport 165cc class, TVS Racing's Jagan Kumar has a 13-point advantage over the nearest competitor from team RACR, Deepak Ravikumar. Jagan has 108 points while Deepak has 95 points to his name. What is notable is that Super Sport Indian 165cc class will run concurrently with Pro-Stock 165cc class, meaning both classes will share the same grid.
