Honda Mobilio to get an update

It seems like Honda has finally let go of the Mobilio MPV. The Japanese carmaker, post the GST price drop, has removed the Mobilio from its website indicating that the car will no longer be on sale. The Mobilio has been given a miss from the updated product portfolio price list that Honda released post GST, further hinting at the same. But, since an official confirmation is pending, we assume dealers will be clearing the existing stock and then Honda will come up with an official word. The Mobilio was priced close to the other Honda 7-seater - the BR-V - and this meant that buyers could add a few bucks and get the more premium product.
The Mobilio was launched back in July 2014 and the production was ceased in February this year. Before the GST price drop, the Honda Mobilio's range started from Rs 9.12 lakh and went up to Rs 13.34 lakh. This made it sit between the Maruti Ertiga and Renault Lodgy. But, with both being tough competitors, customers either went with the former or the latter. Since the Mobilio was not able to catch the fancy of buyers, the RS, which had sporty front and rear bumpers, side skirts, rear spoiler and projector headlamps, was introduced.
The Mobilio was based on the Brio’s platform and came with the same engine option as the Honda City - 1.5-litre petrol and diesel. Speaking of the City, with the GST price cuts, it has witnessed a drop of Rs 28,000 for the top of the line iDTEC ZX variant in Delhi. The CR-V has seen the highest reduction in price - Rs 1.24 lakh in Delhi. Post-GST prices for the Accord have not been revealed yet but are expected to go up as the subsidy on hybrids has been removed.
With Mobilio gone, Honda now has the Brio, Amaze, Jazz, WR-V, BR-V, City, CR-V and the Accord on sale in India.
