Harley’s Custom 1250 Is All Set To Make A Splash Soon

Harley-Davidson has teased its tracker-style cruiser, the Custom 1250, and revealed that it will be officially unveiled on July 13. The Harley-Davidson Custom 1250 will be the second all-new motorcycle after the Pan America 1250 ADV. Expect the bikemaker to launch it in India by the end of this year, presumably at a price tag of Rs 15 lakh.

The Harley-Davidson Custom 1250 will share its powertrain with the ADV. Having said that, it could be tuned differently to suit the performance-oriented genes of the motorcycle. In the ADV, the 1250cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine produces 152.2PS at 9000rpm and 127Nm at 6750rpm. The engine could be enhanced with an IMU-based electronics suite.

Complementing its lively demeanour, the motorcycle gets a slightly more sophisticated inverted front fork, rear monoshock, and disc brakes at both ends, likely with Brembo calipers. Unlike most of the traditional Harley cruisers, this one gets a slightly forward-biased riding stance with tracker-style handlebars. The instrument cluster is likely to be a TFT unit, with smartphone connectivity at least as an option.

All in all, the Harley-Davidson Custom 1250 will appeal to those who want something different from the American brand’s run-of-the-mill cruisers. It will go directly against the Indian FTR 1200, which is currently the only flat-tracker-inspired motorcycle available on sale. In related news, Harley-Davidson is also working on a 300cc cruiser.
