Battle Of The Kings (BOTK) is a global custom bike-building competition organised by Harley-Davidson for their dealers. The 2018-edition marks its debut in the country, and ten dealerships from various states will be taking part in the competition. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are perfect canvasses to materialise one’s creativity on two-wheels as their characteristic design makes the potential for customisation nearly limitless.

However, to make ‘Battle of the Kings’ a bit more challenging, Harley-Davidson has restricted the base bikes to the Street Rod and the Street 750. Furthermore, the budget for the custom build has been limited to Rs 5 lakh. This encourages the builders to maintain a good balance between cost constraint and creativity. The competing motorcycles are subjected to a public voting process initiated online from July 23 on the brand’s microsite: h-d.com/battleofthekings. The final winner of the competition will also be announced here.

Peter MacKenzie, managing director of Harley-Davidson India, said, "The theme of the Battle of the Kings 2018 edition reflects 115 years of Harley-Davidson. Showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of the dealership staff, the contest also demonstrates the brand’s ideals of individuality, freedom and expression while providing inspiration for our customers.” The participants from India are as follows:
