American motorcycle manufacturer, Harley-Davidson, has been having success in flat track racing for the last 44 years with the XR750. The company has now revealed the XG750R which will be the successor XR750. The new XG750R made its race debut at the AMA Pro Springfield Mile in Illinois. The race bike will be later be fielded by the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory team for the AMA Pro Flat Track series.

Speaking at the unveiling of the XG750R, Kris Schoonover, Harley-Davidson's racing manager said: “Vance & Hines has unlocked the potential Harley-Davison engineers designed into the Revolution X engine. After decades of flat-track racing success behind the Harley-Davidson XR750 flat track motorcycle, we knew it was time to develop the next-generation Harley-Davidson to compete in one of the best spectator racing sports out there today.”

The Harley-Davidson XG750R is a custom-made motorcycle for flat track racing. It is powered by the Harley-Davidson 'Revolution X' 750cc liquid-cooled engine that is used in the mid-weight Street 750 motorcycle. The motor of the XG750R has been tuned by Vance & Hines and the motorcycle’s frame and the custom-made exhaust system have also benefitted from the exhaust specialists’ knowhow.

The company had mentioned that the motorcycle will not be available for retail yet. Which means, we can expect Harley-Davidson to introduce a road legal version of the XG750R in the future that will come with lights and indicators, a front brake system, and instrumentation, later down the line.
