Harley-Davidson has officially ceased production of the Street 750
  • Harley-Davidson has shut down its plant in Bawal, Haryana, where the Street 750 and the Street Rod were produced.
  • Following the closure, the manufacturer has announced that both models will no longer be part of their lineup.
  • However, the smaller Street 500 is still available in international markets.
  • While everyone was hoping for a much-needed upgrade to the Street lineup, Harley-Davidson has actually discontinued their most affordable offerings in India, the Street 750 and the Street Rod. This news broke out via Harley’s virtual press conference, and this move comes as a result of the closure of the manufacturer's plant in Bawal, Haryana. Both the aforementioned models were produced in the Bawal plant and were also exported to international markets from here. Harley had initially planned to exit the Indian market and to shut down its Bawal plant back in September 2020. In a turn of events, only a month later, Harley-Davidson announced that they were making a comeback, albeit with help from Hero MotoCorp. However, it seems that the manufacturer will strictly rely on its higher end motorcycles, which will come into India via the CBU route.

The Harley-Davidson Street 750 has been in the Indian market for almost seven years, and it was also the first bike to get a BS6 update in the Harley lineup. On the other hand, the Street Rod, a sporty iteration of the Street 750 featuring a more aggressive approach by the manufacturer, came out in 2017. While both bikes used a 749cc V-twin motor, the Rod made around 68PS as compared to the Street 750’s 53PS. Torque figures were similar for both bikes at around 64Nm.

Harley dealers were desperately trying to off-load their inventory and were offering massive discounts. The last lot of the Street 750 and the Street Rod were sold at discounted prices of Rs. 4.69 lakh and Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
