Owning a Harley-Davidson is a dream for many an Indian. The aura of the brand stems from its celebration of brotherhood and the love for the open road. The Street 750 was the bike that made the brand more accessible to Indians. It is the most affordable Harley in India and now for Indian Armed Officers, the Street series is going to be even more affordable. Harley-Davidson will be offering the bikes from the Canteen Store Departments at highly subsidised rates.
Currently, the BS6-compliant Harley-Davidson Street 750 and the Street Rod retail at Rs 5.35 lakh and Rs 6.55 lakh. If you are part of the Armed Forces, the same bikes will be offered to you at Rs 4.60 lakh and Rs 5.65 lakh if you buy it from the canteen. All prices, ex-showroom Delhi. By offering these two Street motorcycles, Harley-Davidson becomes the first big bike manufacturer to offer its motorcycles at CSDs.
Other notable names sold at CSDs include the Royal Enfield Classic 350 (obviously!), Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, TVS Apaches and Bajaj Pulsars and Platinas.
The Harley-Davidson Street 750 was the first BS6-compliant motorcycle in India when it went on sale in August 2019. The brilliant liquid-cooled Revolution X V-twin motor produces the same 60Nm as before. The same motor is used on the Street Rod. While torque remains the same, the motor is tuned for a spirited ride.
