Splendor Overtakes Activa To Regain Its Throne

The Splendor is one of the most successful products till date to be sold by Hero MotoCorp. The company currently sells five variants of the Splendor in the market, namely- Super Splendor, Splendor Pro TR, Splendor iSmart, Splendor Classic Pro, Splendor Pro and the Splendor+. Hero MotoCorp had unveiled a new iSmart 110 version of the Splendor at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. Now, it has been learned that the new offering has reached showrooms, confirming the immiment launch of the motorcycle.
The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is powered by an 110cc air-cooled single cylinder four-stroke motor that produces 9.1PS of power and a peak torque of 9Nm. The engine comes mated to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox. The engine of the Splendor iSmart 110 features the i3S Technology (Idle Stop and Start System), which is a start-stop system that shuts the engine down while the bike is at idling and in neutral, and automatically starts it up as soon as the clutch is depressed and you slot the bike into gear. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is the first motorcycle to be developed completely in-house by the manufacturer. The motorcycle is aimed at commuter segment buyers with the main preference given to fuel economy.
Feature-wise, the Splendor iSmart 110cc will mostly carry the same equipment and instrumentation as provided on the smaller sibling. The 100cc variant of the Splendor iSmart is sold at a starting price of Rs 50,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 110cc model is likely to be launched with a slightly higher price tag of around Rs 55,000 (ex-showroom).
