Hero MotoCorp has finally teased its first electric scooter, during its virtual 10th anniversary celebrations. Dr Pawan Munjal, chairman and CEO, Hero MotoCorp, announced that the company was on the cusp of launching it. And by the looks of it, the e-scooter does look production-ready, hinting at an imminent launch.
Aesthetically, the scooter looks minimalistic and fresh. It doesn’t take inspiration from any existing Hero or Gogoro scooter and gets glossy white panels all around without any graphics or branding.
The design is topped off by sporty alloy wheels and a single-sided swingarm, which add to its premium appeal and shrugs off the possibility of a hub-mounted motor.
Other bits worth noting here are the conventional telescopic fork, drum brakes, and what seems like LED illumination at both ends.
Interestingly, unlike most e-scooters, the Hero Electric Scooter gets split seats instead of a single-piece setup, meaning the scooter could get two underseat compartments: one for the removable battery pack and another for storage purposes, similar to what’s found on Gogoro e-scooters.
Judging from the aforementioned bits, we feel this scooter is a budget-friendly product rather than a performance-oriented model. If you’re looking for the latter, fret not as Hero is working on the eMaestro too, which will focus on features and performance, likely to take on the Ather 450X.
