DSK-Benelli unveiling
DSK-Motowheels which will be bringing the Benelli motorcycle brand to India will be showcasing its products at the 2015 India Bike Week (IBW) in Goa. DSK-Benelli had announced last year that they will be launching five motorcycles from its international portfolio between 300 to 1130cc in the Indian two-wheeler market. The five motorcycles that would be launched include the Benelli TNT 300, TNT600i, TNT600GT, TNT 899 and TNT 1130R. Also the five bikes that are scheduled to be launched will also be showcased with their new look and colours. DSK-Benelli have also announced that it will display three new Benelli motorcycles for the first time at 2015 IBW that will be launched later in the Indian market.
Apart from showcasing the three new motorcycles, it is also speculated that DSK-Motowheels might launch the Benelli brand in the Indian two-wheeler market at 2015 IBW. It is expected that the three new motorcycles could be the Benelli TNT 250, Benelli Trek 1130 and the Keeway Blackster cruiser that would be marketed as Benelli offering in our market.
Harley-Davidson India 5th anniversary celebrations
Harley-Davidson’s journey in the Indian two-wheeler market has been a remarkable one. From a niche American cruiser motorcycle brand it has turned into a local manufacturer in the past five years. Harley-Davidson India has completed five years in the Indian two-wheeler space and it plans to celebrate this occasion at the 2015 IBW. First up is the HOG rally which is supposed to witness more than 1,000 Harley-Davidson owners riding down the streets of Goa. Also Harley-Davidson India has organised a biker build off for its dealers. It has asked all its dealers throughout the country to make a custom motorcycle based on the Street 750. Also Rajputana Customs will showcase a new custom cafe racer motorcycle based on the Harley-Davidson Street 750 at IBW 2015.
Motorcycle stunt championship
No motorcycle can be complete without stunts and the India Bike Week 2015 plans to take motorcycle stunting to the next level as it will host the National Stunt Championship. The event will witness eight professional stunt teams from across the country battle for glory trying to woo the spectators with stunts that have been never performed before. The stunt teams will be picked by Araz Gibieza, two time European Stunt Champion and Red Bull athlete. The eight stunt teams are Team HR, Team Steel Silencerz, Team Rishi, Team DFG, Team Zero Gravity, Team Throttlerz, Team Roosters and Team TXT.
IBW Bike Build Off
Building a motorcycle is not in a walk in a park as apart from aesthetics one has to get the engineering part also spot on. IBW will be providing professional custom bike builders a platform to create a custom design and build the bike from scratch in the IBW Bike Build Off. Winners from last year Moto Exotica and Reza Hussain Customs will be coming back this season to defend their title and battle 3 other shortlisted entrants from 25 registered entries to the IBW Bike Build Off 2015 Call for Entry. So be rest assured to see some whacky and out of the box creations on two-wheels at the IBW 2015.
Red Bull Tour Bus
Motorcycle and music go hand in hand so a bike festival without music is unfathomable. The Red Bull Tour Bus that has blazed across the length and breadth of India will be present at IBW 2015. One can witness some of the best name in the music industry performing atop this bus-stage. The Red Bull Tour Bus will be heading to Goa after a North Eastern tour and will be present on both days of the event. With a genre bending line-up that includes some of the best Indian artists, the bus will stage performances ranging from electro rock to dance music, dubstep to ambient electronica. The highlight among all acts is the debut performances by Ash Roy and Ashvin Mani Sharma of Jalebee Cartel performing as BIT OF BOTH and the union of electronic and organic sounds of singer-songwriter Nicholos and electronic artist Fuzzy Logic.
On Any Sunday – The Next Chapter
Well movies are something one really doesn’t look forward to at a bike festival but when the feature film in question has a motorcycle theme then the equation changes. On Any Sunday – The Next Chapter is a 90-minute documentary film. Directed by Dana Brown, the movie features luminaries of motorsports such as Robbie Maddison, Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa amongst others – journeys deeper into the humanity and excitement of motorcycle culture across disciplines: the passion for the race, the love of family and friends and the thrill of the ride. It will be showcased at the Howling Dog Stage at 10:00pm on February 20th.
