Honda updated the Brio in the international market earlier this year. Now, finally after several reports of bringing the update to India, Honda will be finally launching the face-lifted Brio on October 4. The facelift is more of a cosmetic update that will be similar to the Amaze compact sedan.
On the exterior, the new Brio will receive revised, restyled bumpers as seen on the recently updated Amaze. Inside, the Brio will get a fresh dashboard design that is currently used by Honda in the face-lifted Brio and the BR-V. Since this will be the first significant update since its launch in 2011, the hatchback is expected to receive some new equipment to keep it competitive in the market.
Under the hood, the Brio facelift will come with no mechanical changes and will continue to come with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. The motor is capable of developing 88PS of power and 109Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearbox.
On the competition front, the Brio will be pitted against the likes of the Toyota Etios Liva, Renault Pulse, Nissan Micra, Hyundai Grand i10, Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo and the Maruti Suzuki Ritz.
