The new Honda Jazz which is currently in its third generation has completed one year since its launch in the Indian market. Introduced in July 2015, the new Jazz has contributed to 26 per cent of overall sales for the Japanese manufacturer and has become a volume model for the company. Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has managed to sell a total of 47,335 units of the new Jazz from July 2015 till June 2016.
Commenting on the success of the Honda Jazz, Yoichiro Ueno, President & CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd., said: “The Jazz is a globally successful model in Honda’s line-up and is appreciated world-wide. In India too, the 3rd Generation Jazz, has struck a chord among young, urban customers who have appreciated its styling, packaging and the advanced, new-generation CVT technology.”
On completion of a successful year for the new Jazz, Honda will be offering special services to its customers from July 8 to July 10, 2016. All Honda showrooms on these three days will be open until 10pm and will feature exciting activities where customers will receive special offers and surprise gifts.
Previously available only with a petrol variant, Honda has launched the third generation of the Jazz in both petrol and diesel engine variants. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that produces 90PS of power and 110Nm of peak torque. The diesel, on the other hand, comes with a 1.5-litre i-DTEC mill that generates 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Both engine options come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while only the petrol variant gets the additional option of a CVT gearbox. The new Honda Jazz is available in five variants and comes at a starting price of Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol variant and Rs 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel variant.
