The 2020 Honda City is almost here after a long delay due to the nationwide lockdown. Set to be launched tomorrow, the 2020 Honda City has been one of the most anticipated sedans of the year. It’s larger, more spacious and loaded to the gills with features. Here are five things you need to know about the upcoming City:

Yes, that’s right. Now you can choose from two Citys as the fourth-generation Honda City will be sold alongside the fifth-gen model. So if you’re on a budget and want a tried and tested car, you can pick up the older City. But if you desire a relatively premium sedan, the fifth-gen City is the way to go.

That’s because the City comes loaded to the gills with features. Some standout bits include a semi-digital instrument cluster featuring a 7-inch colour display, connected car technology with Alexa remote compatibility, 9-unit LED array headlamps, Honda’s Lane Watch Camera (part of blind spot monitoring system).

Features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, steering mounted audio control, a sunroof and keyless entry with push button start have been retained from the fourth-gen City. The 2020 Honda City is offered with BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. Though the petrol engine is an i-VTEC unit, it now utilises a DOHC setup, making it more up to date. Power figures are rated at 121PS, 2PS more than before, and it’s offered with either a new 6-speed manual or a CVT. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is Honda’s 100PS 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit that’s offered with a 6-speed manual transmission. 

Expected Price And Rivals:

The 2020 City is expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will fight it out with the Hyundai Verna, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Yaris.
