We all know that Honda Cars India is gearing up to launch the 2020 Honda City on July 15. It’ll be offered in three variants: V, VX and ZX. Just ahead of its launch, the variant-wise features of the City have been leaked. Let’s take a look at each of them, shall we?
City V:
The City V is the entry-level variant and will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. It’s also loaded with all the essential features including:
An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Honda Connect - Connected car suite.
Four-speaker sound system.
Automatic climate control.
Cruise control.
Keyless entry with push button start and remote engine start (CVT only).
Paddle shifters
Halogen projector headlamps with DRLs
LED tail lamps.
Four Airbags.
ABS with EBD.
Tyre pressure monitoring system.
Electronic stability control.
A rearview camera.
City VX:
This variant is one step above the V and in addition to the above mentioned features, it comes loaded with:
A sunroof.
16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
An 8-speaker sound system.
A semi-digital instrument display.
Walk away locking system.
Automatic headlamps.
Curtain airbags (Total - 6).
Auto dimming IRVM.
City ZX:
This is the top-spec variant of the City and in addition to the above mentioned kit, it comes loaded with goodies like:
LED headlamps and fog lamps.
Leather upholstery.
All four power windows with one touch up and down function.
Remote opening and closing of windows and sunroof.
Honda’s Lane Watch Camera.

Which variant of the Honda City do we recommend? The base-spec V variant comes with all the essential features one would need. But if you want a sunroof and an extra tinge of premiumness, we suggest you pick up the mid-spec City VX. Go for the top-spec ZX variant if you need your City to stand out with all the premium goodies.
It also shows that Honda is positioning the new City as a more premium alternative to the fourth-gen model that will be sold alongside. Prices are likely to start from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), but going by the feature list, we feel it would be money well spent. The City locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid.
