Honda has launched the BS6-compliant City in India with prices starting from Rs 9.91 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine has been updated to comply with upcoming BS6 emission norms while the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel continues to be BS4-compliant. The BS6-compliant Honda City petrol carries a premium of around Rs 15,000 (Rs 10,000 for the SV MT). Meanwhile, Honda has also hiked the price of diesel variants by Rs 5,000. The Japanese carmaker is also readying the 2020 Honda City for India. Key rivals for the Honda City include the Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna as well as the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

The SV MT petrol variant doesn't get the new Digipad 2.0 infotainment system and hence only carries a premium of Rs 10,000.
The BS6-compliant 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor produces the same power and torque figures as before - 119PS and 145Nm. This engine is offered with the choice of a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor will be updated over the coming days.
