Honda developing new entry level scooter

It was a momentous occasion for Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) as it sold its 20 million vehicle in the Indian two-wheeler market. It took the Japanese two-wheeler giant less than 14 years in breaching the 20 million landmark. According to Honda, the 20 millionth vehicle was rolled out of its assembly line last week. Honda credits its tremendous growth in the Indian two-wheeler market to the Activa range of scooters and the 125cc commuter offering - CB Shine. Currently the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has 55 per cent market share in the scooter segment which it expects to further increase by end of 2015. Honda is also constructing the largest scooter manufacturing plant in at Vithalapur, in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 million units, thereby hiking Honda’s annual production capacity to 5.8 million units. Honda had also recently launched the Activa 3G
