  • Forza 300 price

We already know four Honda Forza 300 maxi-scooters has been delivered to a few Indian customers recently. However, these scooters were brought into the country via the CBU route to gauge customer response, and have been sold at a hefty premium.

To make it more accessible, Honda plans to launch the Forza 300 via the CKD route, presumably by the end of this year. The CKD version will be a whole lot more affordable and here’s our analysis as to how much it might be priced at.

Let’s consider the UK market as it sells both the Forza 300 and the CB300R. The latter is sold in our country as well. By calculating the delta for the naked bike, we’ve arrived at the conclusion that the UK-spec Honda CB300R is 1.75 times more expensive than the India-spec model. Here’s the price comparison.

    UK-spec Honda CB300R

    India-spec Honda CB300R

    Delta

    Price

    GBP 4,579 (Rs 4,25,224)

    Rs 2,41,989

UK-spec bike is 1.75 times dearer than the India-spec model

Now let’s consider the UK-spec Honda Forza 300. It is priced at GBP 5,099, which is approximately Rs 4,73,514. Dividing this value with the same delta as the CB300R, the India-spec Forza 300 is likely to cost Rs 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom). While the price is on the higher side, it is still pretty reasonable for a maxi-scooter with a proper liquid-cooled engine. When launched, it will be a more premium alternative to the upcoming Aprilia SXR 160 and the 22Kymco X-Town 300i.

It will be BS6-compliant when launched, so expect the power/torque to drop slightly in favour of cleaner emissions. In its BS4 guise, the 279cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor churns out 25.15PS at 7000rpm and 27.2Nm at 5750rpm. It is loaded with tech like Variable Valve Timing (VVT), and traction control too.
