Honda Cars India has added a new variant for its compact SUV, the WR-V. Christened the ‘V’ variant, it slots in between the ‘S’ and ‘VX’ trim levels and can be had with the diesel engine only. Along with the introduction of the new variant, the base ‘S’ and top-end ‘VX’ trims also sees some feature additions.
What’s new in the V Variant?
The new V variant can be had with the diesel engine only. It is priced at Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is Rs 70,000 more than the base ‘S’ trim level. For the extra premium, these are the features that you get:
Feature Updates On S and VX Variant:
Common feature updates on both trim levels include speed sensing auto door lock, driver and passenger side vanity mirror.
Apart from that, the base-spec S variant now gets additional features like 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control and front fog lamps while the top-spec V variant gets a leather wrapped steering wheel as a new addition.
All variants come with updated safety features like rear parking sensors, front passenger seat belt reminder, high speed alert as standard to make it compliant with the upcoming AIS 145 safety norms.
Any Engine Updates?
Nope, the WR-V continues with the same BS4-compliant 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel units. The petrol motor churns out 90PS/110Nm while the diesel puts out 100PS/200Nm. The petrol can be had with a 5-speed MT while the diesel can be had with a 6-speed MT.
How Much Do You Need To Shell Out?
The introduction of these new features has led to an increase in the prices of the WR-V by up to Rs 32,000. The base variant is the most affected as it sees a sizeable amount of feature updates. Along with the price update, the S Edge and the Exclusive variants have been given the boot. Have a look at the detailed price comparison between the old and new prices of the WR-V:
