Most Hot Wheels designed cars look radical and appeal to the petrolhead in all of us. This time around it’s Honda Cub House, a chain of showrooms-cum-lifestyle cafe from Thailand, with a blazing hot Hot Wheels treatment to the Honda Monkey minibike.
Called the Monkey X Hot Wheels Limited Edition, it’ll be limited to 150 units and available in Thailand only. It’s priced at an equivalent of Rs 3.09 lakh, which is more expensive than the KTM 390 Duke (priced at Rs 2.87 lakh), but that’s the price you pay to look cool.
Honda Cub House has only made cosmetic changes to the mini-bike. It gets Hot Wheels’ signature Orange and Blue paint scheme. The chrome front fender also gets orange flames and the grips too are mismatched in orange and blue colours. The fuel tank sports the Hot Wheels branding and the side covers too are painted in orange.
Apart from the said updates, the limited edition Monkey retains all the mechanical bits of the standard model. It’s powered by the same 124cc air-cooled motor claiming to dish out 9.3PS and 11Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The underpinnings too remain unaltered.
Each of the units will bear a serial number. Apart from that, the Cub House will also offer a Hot Wheels themed helmet, keychain and a 72-car Hot Wheels tower and a scale model of the mini-bike too. Not just that, Hot Wheels has also collaborated with Super 37 and made this bonkers e-bike.
