A little over a year back, Husqvarna had revealed its electric plans. The lineup included an electric scooter, a stand-up e-scooter, and a sweet-looking electric motorcycle -- that has already been revealed, christened the E-Pilen. Read more about it here. The Swedish bikemaker has now officially released images of its e-scooter, the Vektorr. While it’s still in the concept stage, it looks pretty close to production-ready if you ask us.
The overall design is quite different from the earlier renders. The scooter looks minimalistic and proportionate, with clean lines and well-defined surfaces. Then, there’s the white, black, and fluorescent yellow livery that screams Husqvarna. We love the way the designers have incorporated the circular headlamp into the front apron. The highlight, though, has to be the single-sided front suspension. Braking duties are carried out by a single disc up front and a drum at the rear.
This makes sense because the Vektorr isn’t pegged as a quick scooter. It’s, in fact, designed to be progressive, innovative, stylish and unique. Husqvarna says you can expect a top speed of 45kmph and a range of about 95km from the Vektorr. While the range seems adequate, the speed may be a deal-breaker for most but nothing a simple OTA update cannot fix. We’ll just have to wait and watch.
Husqvarna’s parent company, KTM, is also working on its very own range of electric two-wheelers, in collaboration with Bajaj. We believe some of these learnings may be integrated into the Vektorr concept. While details are scarce, the Vektorr looks production-ready, minus the mirrors and number plates, of course. So expect the scooter to go into production fairly soon. Moreover, if you reside in Austria, you could catch an exclusive glimpse of both the Vektorr and the E-Pilen concept at the Pierer Mobility AG special exhibition in the KTM Motohall in Mattighofen.
The company is currently focusing on expanding its reach in Europe, particularly Spain, France, Italy, and Germany. An extensive dealer network should aid Husqvarna in achieving its electric mobility vision.
