From cafe racers to scramblers and ADVs, there’s hardly a genre that doesn’t have a neo-retro motorcycle. With the kind of popularity these retro-themed motorcycles have been gaining, almost every motorcycle manufacturer has jumped on the bandwagon. Heck, even Super Soco has unveiled a neo-retro bike. Swedish manufacturer Husqvarna, when not building absolute bonkers, championship-winning dirtbikes, makes some clean neo-retro beauties. It’s not even been a month since it unveiled the Svartpilen 125, but the brand has already started work on the Vitpilen 125.
Details are scarce at the moment, with the only confirmation coming through the Europe type-approval documents. But it’s a no-brainer, right? They already have the KTM 125 Duke-sourced 124cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine developing 14.95PS and 12Nm, which has made it to the Svartpilen 125. The frame too will be shared with the KTM and Husqvarna siblings.

As for the styling, just like we have seen with the Scrambler sibling, the 125cc cafe racer’s design won’t stray away from the Vitpilen 401 and Vitpilen 250. So, expect the same clip-ons, flat fuel tank, and seat. While the 250s in India get alloy wheels, the Vitpilen 125 will get spoked rims for the European market.
The beefy 43mm WP USD fork and WP monoshock are likely to be carried over as well. A 320mm disc with a 4-pot radially mounted ByBre caliper will shed speeds on the puny cafe racer.
Right now, there’s no official word on its unveiling, but it could be a low-key affair like with the Svartpilen 125. Will the Vitpilen 125 make it to India? Considering the bikes share their components with the 250 twins, KTM is quite likely to bring in the Svartpilen and Vitpilen 125 to India.
