Husqvarna Svartpilen vs Vitpilen: Performance Numbers Explained

After what seemed like an eternity, Swedish two-wheeler manufacturer Husqvarna has finally unveiled the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 in India. In terms of design, the Vitpilen 250 looks similar to its bigger cousin, the Vitpilen 401, which is a good thing. And we must say the Husky twins are possibly the best-looking duo in the 250cc segment.

Being a cafe racer, the Vitpilen 250 offers a more aggressive riding stance thanks to the low-set clip-on ‘bars and the rear-set footpegs.
In terms of features, it gets LED lights and a digital instrument cluster.

At 825mm, the seat height on the Vitpilen 250 is 5mm lower than the KTM 250 Duke. That said, we’ll reserve our judgment on how comfortable this Huskies perch until we put it through a thorough road test.
Powering the Vitpilen 250 is the same 248.8cc single-cylinder fuel-injected liquid-cooled motor as the Svartpilen 250 and the KTM 250 Duke. This motor churns out 31.4PS at 9000rpm and 24Nm at 7250rpm.
The Vitpilen 250 uses the same trellis frame as its cousins. It tips the scale at 153kg, making it 1kg lighter than the Svartpilen 250.
The 250cc Husky twins employ an inverted front fork and a rear monoshock - both from WP. Both bikes offer the same amount of wheel travel as well -142mm front and 150mm rear.
Both Huskies also share the same braking hardware. - 320mm front disc up front and 230mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS comes is offered as standard.
The 5-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in road-biased MRF RevZ FC1 radial tyres.
The Vitpilen 250 will go on sale by the end of February and is likely to be priced around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
