Remember the Hyosung GV300S bobber that resembled a scaled-down version of the Harley-Davidson Iron 883? Well, the Korean bike maker has now unveiled a new ‘Fashion’ series with bold colours and some improvements to the mechanicals. The bike will officially debut in select foreign markets on September 28.
The Hyosung GV300S will now be available in five new colours: Pearl Black, Ore Silver, Magic Yellow, Caribbean Blue and Rose Red. These colours are a stark contrast from the sinister all-black colour of the previous model.
Hyosung has now switched from the part digital instrument console to a new LCD display with a gear position indicator and even an overspeed indicator. The negative backlit instrument console renders a premium touch to the V-twin bobber.
Along with the modern instrument console, the Hyosung GV300S also receives all LED illumination all around, with sequential LED indicators. The Korean bikemaker has even moved the ignition key from the handlebar to the side of the bike for a more authentic cruiser appeal. Furthermore, now customers can either opt to buy it as a single-seater or two-seater.
The changes to the Hyosung GV300S aren’t just skin-deep. By increasing the size of the air filter, Hyosung has been able to extract eight percent more torque from the GV300S. Now, the 296cc V-twin makes 30.5PS and 27.6Nm (2Nm more than the previous model). The company also claims that the low to mid-range grunt has been improved.
Even the underpinnings have been updated. Replacing the 35mm telescopic fork is the new beefy 51mm USD unit. Though Hyosung is yet to reveal the details of the braking setup, it is likely to have been revised too. Hyosung has even swapped the alloy wheels with cross-spoke wheels shod with Timsum tyres.
The Chinese market has been witnessing a lot of action in the 300cc cruiser segment, with the likes of Benda BD300 and the Qianjiang SRV300 in the market. While the Hyosung GV300S fashion series will debut later this month in China, we are unlikely to get this motorcycle in our market.
