Hyundai India has commenced bookings for the Alcazar, its upcoming three-row midsize SUV, slated for launch this month. Interested customers can book it either on Hyundai’s official website or their closest dealership for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The carmaker also took the opportunity to give us a glimpse of its interior for the first time.
The upcoming SUV will be offered in six variants: Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature, and Signature (O). It can be had either as a 6-seater with captain seats or a 7-seater with bench seats for middle row occupants. Here’s a rundown of the seating combinations and powertrains you can get in each variant:

The automatic transmission is limited to the Optional variants.
One can opt for dual-tone colours in the top-spec Signature and Signature (O), taking the total variant count to eight.
Only the base-spec Prestige MT is available with both seating options.
Interestingly, the Prestige (O) Petrol AT will come as a 6-seater while the diesel variant is offered as a 7-seater.
The Alcazar will come in six monotone shades: Titan Grey, Polar White, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver, Taiga Brown, and Starry Night. While the first four are shared with the Creta, the last two are unique to the Alcazar. Also, the Polar White and Titan Grey options can be had with a black coloured roof.
This is also the first time Hyundai has given us a glimpse of the Alcazar’s interior. While the dashboard layout and design is similar to the Creta, the Alcazar’s interior is finished in a black-brown colour scheme. Also unique to the Alcazar is a full-fledged digital driver’s display, a first in its segment.

It also features a 10.25-inch infotainment system with connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, two wireless phone chargers, cruise control, automatic climate control, drive and traction modes, and a Bose sound system. Passenger safety is taken care of by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control.

The Alcazar can be had with either a 115PS 1.5-litre diesel or a 159PS 2.0-litre petrol engine. Both motors drive the front wheels via a 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The Alcazar is likely to be priced from Rs 13 lakh, putting it in contention with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
