The petrol engine’s MT and AT are claimed to offer almost the same fuel efficiency.
The 1.5-litre diesel-MT combine is understood to be the most frugal in the Alcazar lineup.
The Alcazar will be available in eight variants and six body colours, plus two dual-tone options.
Likely to be priced from Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
Will rival the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
With the Hyundai Alcazar’s launch just around the corner, more details have surfaced in the form of its fuel efficiency figures. Take a look at this table:
Engine |
6-speed manual |
6-speed automatic |
2.0-litre Petrol |
14.5kmpl |
14.2kmpl |
1.5-litre Diesel |
20.4kmpl |
18.1kmpl |
As we can see, the 2.0-litre petrol is claimed to return almost the same mileage with its manual and automatic transmissions. However, with the 1.5-litre diesel motor, the difference is pretty evident. Its MT variant is the most fuel-efficient, returning 20.4kmpl, compared to the automatic at 18.1kmpl.
The 2.0-litre petrol pushes out 159PS and 191Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre diesel delivers 115PS and 250Nm, the same as the Creta.
The Alcazar is essentially a longer Creta with a 2760mm wheelbase, 150mm more than its sibling. It will be available either as a 6-seater (with captain seats) or a 7-seater (with bench seats for middle-row occupants).
There are, of course, some styling differences from the 5-seater Creta, including a chrome-studded grille, different fog lamps, silver skid plates on the front bumper, larger 18-inch wheels, and an upright rear with conventional LED tail lamps connected by a chrome strip.

Thanks to a new third row, the Alcazar will be more spacious than the Creta. There’s a wireless charger in the second row (limited to the 6-seater Alcazar), sunshades, and front-row seatback tables. Other important features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, a voice-controlled panoramic sunroof, BlueLink connected car tech, a Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, an air purifier, and drive and traction modes.
Passenger safety will be taken care of by multiple airbags, parking sensors with a camera, ABS with EBD, blind spot monitoring, tyre pressure monitoring, and electronic stability control.
The three-row SUV will be available in eight variants and six body shades, two of which will also be available as dual-tone options. You can book the Hyundai Alcazar online or at your nearest dealership for a token of Rs 25,000. Expect prices to start from Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will take on the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
